According to US Census figures released in April 2007, No other metro area in the country added more residents from 2000 to 2006. With the addition of nearly 900,000 newcomers in that time span, the Atlanta metropolitan area has surpassed 5 million people.

Right in the middle of all of this tremendous growth are the 4 counties that comprise the Joint Development Authority of Metropolitan Atlanta (JDAMA)
