The DeKalb County Fire Rescue's Community Education Unit is proud to offer a number of fire
and life safety programs to the citizens of DeKalb County. All programs are free of charge.
Dalmatian Education Program
The Dalmatian Education Program is designed to teach elementary children (Pre-K thru 2nd grade)
about fire safety using a specially trained Dalmatian. Topics covered include how to crawl low under smoke,
how to crawl through and to a door, how to dial 911, and how to stop, drop, and roll.
Children are encouraged to verbally and physically participate in order to enhance their abilities to recall
and retain information presented to them. Please call Community Education Specialist
Kristin Randall at 770-414-2122 for more information.
S.O.S. (Save Our Seniors)
The S.O.S. program is designed for senior citizens and consists of many types of fire safety classes

Fire Safety House
The Fire Safety House is a 39-foot travel trailer that is scaled down to a
one level house and allows children to experience a simulated fire-like situation
in a home setting. Children will be able to walk through a kitchen, living room,
